~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AUGUST FOOD DONATIONS to benefit Lutheran Food Pantry. With the return to school, we think of school lunches, hence, we encourage donation of Peanut Butter & Jelly Place on the red cart in the narthex. Also the bottle water donations in June & July were taken to Phoenix Rescue Mission warehouse at 44th Ave. and Thomas Rd. Some 228 bottles were received. Receive the “thank yous” from those on the street served by the "mission-vans". Lutheran Malaria Initiative update As you know, in the months of June and July, we encouraged members to place pocket change (and some $$ bills were added) to the special jar in the narthex. As a result, we are going to be able to send $100.00 to enable 10 “bed-nets” to be purchased by Lutheran World Relief for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. These “bed-nets” will be distributed in health care centers and Lutheran congregations where Lutherans have a presence in Africa countries. Many children will be protected from mosquitoes by your generosity. THANK YOU We met our goal of 10 “BED-NETS” from St. Paul-Phoenix! Thank you! |
